showing our support for all things property
The property industry gets a disproportionate amount of bad press. In fact, you’d be hard pushed to find another industry that takes so much flack in the news and on public forums.
We have worked with so many dedicated and diligent property professionals over the years that HD is thrilled to be throwing its weight behind two upcoming initiatives designed to shine a light on all that’s good in the business of buying, selling and building property.
The first is New Homes Week, which is run by the Home Builders Federation. This year’s promotion runs from 2nd to the 8th February 2026 and focuses on how buying brand new gives people the power to move.
There is so much to shout about. New Homes Week will highlight how buying new brings energy saving benefits, automatically lowers a person’s carbon footprint, reduces a mover’s repair and renovation costs and allows people to relocate to a development where community is put first. And did we mention buying new is the end of the chain, reducing the number of transactions involved?
More importantly, New Homes Week 2026 will draw attention to the empowering buying initiatives that help people get on or move up the property ladder. We’re talking about part exchange, deposit assistance, stamp duty contributions and free upgrades – aspects that genuinely help when the rest of the market feels like a tough place to be.
Here at HD we don’t feel housebuilders do enough to promote these unique advantages – assistance that can’t be found on the resales market. Perhaps minds will be changed upon reading Zoopla’s latest website traffic analysis.
In December 2025, the portal revealed the keywords that are setting the pace in the property market. Second on the most searched-for list? New build buying schemes, illustrating that purchasers can’t always go it alone and often need a little help. Zoopla’s browsers can also use the portal's unique new-build buying scheme filter, which narrows down the result to new homes that are sold using assistance packages.
Home ownership is still an aspiration of the masses and anything that gets people buying should be widely (and loudly) publicised. Evidently, it’s what people want. *Spoiler alert* HD can create a buying assistance marketing campaign for any housebuilder for use across digital and print touchpoints, including website banner ads, branded emails, window displays and leaflets. Zoopla’s discovery means there’s every reason to get the buying assistance message across.
HD Marketing is also flying the flag for estate agents - a much maligned but essential cog in the home moving machine. We were thrilled to learn Iamproperty has created and registered the UK’s first ever National Estate Agent Day.
The date you need to mark is Thursday 26th February. For 24 hours, we’re encouraged to recognise the vital and often complex work estate agents do to keep transactions on track. We think estate agents really are the unsung heroes of the property industry and we enjoy supporting our branch-based clients.
